Skills your child will begin learning in the program

1. Basic Movement & Coordination

  • Running, jumping, and lateral movements to develop agility.

  • Hand-eye coordination exercises (e.g., tossing and catching a ball).

2. Passing (Forearm Pass/Bump)

  • Teaching the correct stance (feet shoulder-width apart, knees bent).

  • Practicing simple toss-and-bump drills to develop control.

3. Underhand Serving

  • Focusing on proper hand positioning and ball contact.

  • Teaching kids to step forward and swing their arm to generate power.

  • 4. Setting

    • Introducing the overhead pass with soft finger touches.

    • Teaching hand positioning (forming a triangle with thumbs and index fingers).

    5. Hitting (Spike Approach Basics)

    • Introducing the concept of hitting with open hands.

    • Teaching the basic footwork for an approach (e.g., left-right-left for right-handed players).

    • Allowing kids to practice soft attacks with a focus on contact and timing.
